Civil society groups in Nigeria have asked the President of the country, Muhammadu Buhari to take a medical leave.

In an open letter to Mr. Buhari the leaders of the civil society groups asked the 74-year-old Nigerian leader to rest more to recover from his illness.

In this letter dated May 1, the leaders said “We are compelled to advise him to heed the advice of his personal physicians by taking a rest to attend to his health without any further delay.”

President Buhari recently returned from a medical vacation in Britain and announced that he needed more time to recover.
