Sierra Leone’s education minister gets world best minister award

Sierra Leone’s head of Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE), Dr. Moinina David Sengeh has been awarded the best global minister award.

Sengeh received the award from the World Government Summit Organization, a global, neutral, non-profit organization dedicated to shaping the future of governments.

The Summit, in its various activities, explores the agenda of the next generation of governments, focusing on harnessing innovation and technology to solve universal challenges facing humanity.

The past editions of the Summit since 2013 have successfully established a new model to collaborate on an international playing field to inspire and enable the next generation of governments.

“Today, I received the Best Minister Award from World Government Summit. I’m proud, inspired, and committed to ensuring all children like Mariatu Isha Koroma can access quality education,” Sengeh wrote on Twitter.

He further dedicated the award to the country’s President Bio “for his vision, and I pledge to serve all children in SierraLeone.”

Dr. Moinina David Sengeh a Musician and TED Senior Fellow, was appointed minister in 2019.

He is also the Chief Innovation Officer at the Directorate of Science, Technology, and Innovation (DSTI).

Dr. Sengeh is serving as Chief Innovation Officer and Minister of MBSSE concurrently.
