Nigerians betting on ailing Buhari

Nigerians have turned the health challenges of their president, Muhammadu Buhari into an opportunity to make money as they bet on his return date.

Mr. Buhari is currently in London, England receiving medical attention for his health which has kept him from actively governing his country.

His vice Yemi Osinbajo is currently acting as President.

AFP reported that a popular sports gaming site, NaijaBet.com, is asking Nigerians to bet on when the ailing Buhari would return.

NaijaBet.com usually allows for betting on matches in English Premiership, Champions League and other sporting events.

The latest bet named the ‘Buhari to Return’ game said people “can bet on if he (Buhari) will return on the 2nd week of August or the 4th”

The health of 74-year-old Buhari has been topical in Nigeria ever since he left Nigeria for London last year for medical check-up.

He returned to Abuja in March but had to travel again to London for further checkup.
