A journalist with the VOA tweeted about the explosion as well. The Labour and, General Works Ministries between Jubba and Shangani junctions were affected.

The attack was carried out by Islamist group al Shabaab.

A gun battle that followed the explosion has now lead to the death of 15 people dead, police said.

The militant group wants to topple the UN backed regime and impose a strict Islamic law (Sharia) on the country.
