Four fighters with al Shabaab have been executed for masterminding a 2016 attack that killed 80 people.

Reuters reported that the executions were ordered by a military court in Somalia and were carried out in Baidoa, northwest of Mogadishu on Monday.

A military officer Major Nur Aden is quoted by Reuters on Tuesday to have said that “Yesterday, four militants who had been behind blasts were executed. More men accused of being al Shabaab members will be executed today or tomorrow.”

The military court found those executed guilty of being behind twin blasts in Baidoa in February 2016. That attack killed many people.
