Jonathan Moyo, an ally of former president of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe has accused the country’s military of attempting to kill him and other former state officials.

The former higher education minister said in a tweet this week that he was saved by former President Mugabe and his wife Grace during the military takeover.

He thanked the former first family for coming to his rescue when soldiers forced their way into his home on November 15.

Jonathan Moyo is one of the many allies of Grace Mugabe forming the famous G40 faction within the ruling Zanu PF targeted by the military.

Moyo and former local government minister Sabiour Kasukuwere are said to have fled their home and sought refuge at Mugabe’s Blue Roof residence to avoid arrest from the military.

He has not been seen in Zimbabwe after the military takeover which forced Robert Mugabe to resign.
