Heavy rains on Thursday morning in Kenya caused havoc as parts of the capital city, Nairobi were flooded disrupting the activities of many city dwellers headed to work.
Daily Nation reported that the rains brought business to standstill in the capital, jamming traffic and commuters struggling to board vehicles to work.
Major streets were flooded making movement challenging for many as residents call for proper drainage system to deal with such perennial flooding.
Kenya Meteorological Department has however predicted more heavy rains in most parts of Kenya in the coming days.
Nairobi which is one of the biggest commercial hub in East and Central Africa is reported to be using drainage and sewer lines constructed during the British colonial era in the 1950s and early 1960s.
The Kenyan capital is home to over 4 million people and is both the seat of government of Kenya and the city county headquarters.
