German detained in Ghana for stabbing man to death

Police in Ghana have reportedly detained a German national for stabbing a Ghanaian to death.

Local media Starr FM reports that the German is on voluntary service to the west African nation. He allegedly stabbed the local who tried to rob him.

The deceased reportedly tried to steal from the German at a street carnival in Eastern part of Ghana.

The incident which occurred on Friday infuriated youth of the community who attempted to lynch the German. Police in the area reportedly intervened to save the German from being lynched.

Starr FM reports that “the German, a Student, accompanied by three female German colleagues and two Ghanaians went for merrymaking at the Akropong Odwira street festival last night.

While walking through the crowd of merrymakers ,it is alleged that, the deceased, Adams Yakubu,35, together with his gang attempted to rob the Suspect and friends creating a scuffle during which he  was stabbed and pronounced dead” at a hospital.

Police are yet to provide further details on the case and what would happen to the German. His identity has not been made public yet as well.
