Defending World Cup champions Germany have exited the competition after shocking defeat by South Korea.

They were beaten by the Asian team by two goals to nil in a dramatic way on Wednesday in Russia.

The team also finished bottom of Group F on goal difference.

South Korea however could not also progress to the next stage despite beating Germany.

Germany joins former champions Italy, Spain and France who also exited in the group stages after winning the competition.

Joachim Low’s men are exiting the competition in Russia at the group stage for the first time in 80 years.

Some Germany players wept on the pitch at the final whistle, but it is all joy for the Mexican and Swedish fans.

There have been reactions to this shocking exit on social media.
