Officials in South Africa say four people have died following Tuesday’s deadly train collision.
There are reports of over 200 people also left injured in the crash which occurred at Mountain View station, Pretoria.
The two passenger trains collided at a station north-west of South Africa’s capital, Pretoria.
“I can confirm that there is a train collision in Mountain View and a number of commuters are injured” Metrorail spokesperson Lillian Mofokeng told local media.
According to Mofokeng other commuters are being attended to by paramedics.
The Emergency Medical Service has since provided an update saying “Reports from the train collision in mountain view show approximately 3 fatalities with 200 other injured.

But Tshwane mayor Solly Msimanga tweeted that four people had been confirmed dead.
