Sierra Leone’s president self-isolates after staffer catches covid-19

The President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio is self-isolating for the next 14 days after one of his bodyguards tested positive for coronavirus.

President Bio said on Monday that he was in good health and likewise the rest of his family.

The President and his family members haven’t shown any symptoms of the virus yet.

Sierra Leone has so far confirmed 43 coronavirus cases and has already imposed several restrictions to fight the pandemic.

Most of the confirmed cases have come from the capital, Freetown, according to officials.

President Bio is now expected to work from home during the period of self-isolation, according to his office.
