Chibok girl abducted by Boko Haram rescued

One more girl abducted by the militant group, Boko Haram has been rescued by the Nigerian military.

Officials of the army made the announcement on Thursday saying the girl was part of the hundreds of young girls kidnapped in 2014 from the town of Chibok.

The girl, Salomi Pagu according to the military leadership in a statement was found with another girl who was not part of the Chibok school girls kidnapped in 2014.

The two “are in the safe custody of troops and receiving medical attention,” the military statement said.

106 of the Chibok schoolgirls have already been freed from captivity. The kidnapping of more than 270 of these students attracted outrage across the world.

The government promised to ensure that the girls are re-united with their families.

Boko Haram is waging a campaign against western form of education in northeast Nigeria and has so far carried out series of attacks killing hundreds and displacing millions.
