Suicide car bomb attack kills many in Somalia’s Mogadishu

At least 15 people have been confirmed dead from a double car bomb attack on Wednesday near a hotel in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.

The attack took place at a time members of the militant group, al Shabaab stormed the popular hotel Dayah. A second car bomb attack happened at the entrance of the hotel.

According to Reuters the death toll from the suicide car bomb attack could rise.

A police officer, Major Mohamed Ahmed told Reuters that “At least 13 people, including forces and civilians, died in two blasts at the hotel. A dozen others were injured”.

AFP also reported that those injured in the blast could include journalists.
