Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni is accusing the police force in his country of playing a role in the killing of citizens following the murder of a high profile police chief last week.
He wants the leadership of the police of Uganda to clean its fold of elements supporting the new wave of killings.
The deputy inspector general of police Andrew Felix Kaweesi and two other officers were killed by gunmen at his home while leaving for work.

President Museveni suspects that the police force has been infiltrated by criminals. He told the country’s inspector general of Police, Kale Kayihura that “Kale, you must clean up the police especially the CID”.
Mr. Museveni asserted that the increase in criminal activities in Uganda is because of corruption and the lack of confidence between the police and the public.
The President has already issued out new orders for the installation of CCTV cameras in urban areas, a project that will cost $110 million.
