Panic in Nigerian mortuary after dead man grabs brother’s hand

Fear gripped residents of Nigeria’s town of Jos when a man said to be dead reportedly grabbed the hand of his brother who was preparing him for burial.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the incident which occurred at the mortuary of Plateau Specialist Hospital in Jos on Monday left many panicking.

Family members of the deceased were reported to have ran out of the facility where the corpse was being washed when it became difficult to separate the dead body from his younger brother’s hand.

Onlookers including a mortuary attendant confirmed the news to the NAN and said they helped to get the corpse’s hand off his brother.

NAN reported that relatives of the deceased claimed that before his demise, he had a misunderstanding with his brother leading to a brawl over a land they inherited from their  parents.
