Social media giant, Twitter deactivated the account of the President of the United States, Donald Trump on Friday for 11 minutes in what the company said was due to human error.

The company in a statement said the account “was inadvertently deactivated due to human error” which it blamed on one of its employees.

Mr. Trump is a very popular personality on Twitter where he constantly tweet about issues before and after becoming President.

He has been criticized for spending much time twitting instead of focusing on national issues in America.

Twitter said President Trump’s account has “since been restored” and apologized for the error.

The company has also promised to investigate the incident and “take steps to prevent this from happening again”.

Hours later the company said its preliminary investigations showed that the deactivation was carried out by a customer support employee.

Twitter said in a statement ” Through our investigation we have learned that this was done by a Twitter customer support employee who did this on the employee’s last day. We are conducting a full internal review.”

There were reactions to the incident on social media with some asking for the said employee to be given a pay raise while others asked for the President’s account to be permanently deactivated.
