Reuters reported that the militant Islamist group al Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The group’s military operations spokesman Abdiasis Abu Musab is quoted as saying “We will give details of casualties later.”

Somalia continues to struggle to deal with the activities of al Shabaab which has compromised the security of the eastern African country.
