Kenyan media on Saturday reported that suspected Al-Shabaab attackers have attacked a police station in the country’s Garissa County burning it down.

Daily Nation reported that the attackers also stole a police vehicle and destroyed a Safaricom communication mast hitting it with a rocket-propelled grenade.

A senior police officer told Daily Nation that “We have those who have been injured. We are yet to know how many as the incident happened past midnight.”

Police officers exchanged gunshots with the militants during the attack for about 20 minutes.

Officials have also said that all police officers at station and nearby camp during the attack have been accounted for.
