The Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday held a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump with talks focusing on security and tackling terrorism.

The Nigerian President described the meeting as fruitful and said later on twitter that “It was truly a pleasure and honour to visit Washington DC at the kind invitation of President Trump. The United States remains for us in Nigeria a valued friend and strategic partner, whose support and solidarity over the years has meant a great deal to us.”

“I had a very productive meeting with President Trump today at the White House. Key issues discussed: Security, Anti-Corruption, Trade, Human Rights, Humanitarian,” Buhari further wrote on his official twitter account.

The Nigerian leader however didn’t discuss the reported comments of President Trump where he referred to African nations as “shithole” countries.

During a White House news conference, Mr Trump said that “We didn’t discuss it,” referring to the slur which attracted a lot of criticisms.
