Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday returned home after spending a few days in London to see his doctors for medical check-up.

The four-day trip to the United Kingdom on medical vacation afforded the 75 year old leader the chance to see doctors to re-examine his health status.

Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu said in a tweet that “President Buhari just returned.”

President Buhari made a similar trip on January 19 last year but his return from that trip was greeted with much anxiety after he over stayed.

The 75 year old has declared his intention to re-run for office next year saying he is “not in politics for fun, frivolity or to amass wealth. I have always been driven by a deep sense of commitment to make a difference in the lives of our people.”

“After my retirement from the army, or forceful retirement, I sat back and watched as events unfolded on the political turf, and realised the country needed an intervention for fairness, justice, and the inclusion of Nigerians in the issues that affect their lives,” President Buhari said.

President Buhari has contested for president in 2003, 2007 and 2011 but only became successful and 2015.
