Obama says death of Kobe Bryant and daughter ‘heartbreaking’

Former US President, Barack Obama has reacted sadly to the death of NBA Legend, Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna.

People around the world have been reacting to the death of the US basketball legend which occurred on Sunday.

He was among five people killed in a helicopter crash in the city of Calabasas, California.

Bryant, 41, was reportedly travelling in a private helicopter alongside his daughter, Gianna when it crashed and burst into flames.

Barack Obama said in a statement that “Kobe was a legend on the court and just getting started in what would have been just as meaningful a second act.

To lose Gianna is even more heartbreaking to us as parents. Michelle and I send love and prayers to Vanessa and the entire Bryant family on an unthinkable day.”

The five-time NBA champion was widely considered one of the greatest players in the game’s history.
