Chinese officials say a total of 36,117 patients infected with the novel coronavirus had been discharged from hospitals.
These patients were discharged after recovering from the virus, Chinese health authority said on Friday.
On Thursday 3,622 people walk out of hospital after recovery, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.
Local Chinese media however reported that by the end of Thursday, a total of 78,824 confirmed cases had been reported in 31 provincial-level regions on Chinese mainland, and 2,788 people had died of the disease.
