The President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma will face a vote on a no-confidence in August when the country’s parliament hears the motion against the president.
The national assembly said on Friday that the vote will take place on August 3 but there was no definite mention of whether or not the voting will be by secret ballot.
Mr. Zuma has faced similar motions in the past but survived the votes all carried out in the open.
In a bid to ensure that Members of Parliament from the ruling African National Congress do not get intimidated during the voting process, a motion was filed at the country’s top court to rule on a secret balloting.
The Supreme Court ruled last month that secret ballots may be held for with Mr. Zuma describing the ruling as unfair.
Mr. Zuma’s critics have accused him of corruption and mismanaging the country.
