Outrage in Ghana over the gang raping of young girl

There is anger among Ghanaians following the circulation of a video which shows four teenage boys gang-raping a young girl.

The circulation of the video on social media has attracted a lot of outrage from some Ghanaians who have called for police investigation and prosecution of the perpetrators.

In the video the four young boys held the teenage girl against her will, abused her and raped her.

Police in Ghana have not confirmed when the said incident happened and the identity of the victim and her abusers but are said to be investigating the incident.

On social media there have been several condemnations not only about the incident but the circulation of the video as well.

Ghana continues to struggle with violence against women and girls with several cases of defilement and rape being recorded by the country’s Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit of the Police service.

In October this year, There was similar out-pour of anger from Ghanaians over the defilement of a four-year-old girl in central Ghana by a young man with the alleged perpetrator being freed by traditional leaders.
