Tributes pour in for Sir Alex Ferguson after surgery

The world of football has been reacting to news of former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson undergoing emergency surgery on Saturday for a brain haemorrhage.

Manchester United in a statement said the surgery went “very well” and noted that the former coach “needs a period of intensive care to optimise his recovery”.


Ferguson who is 76, retired as United manager in May 2013 after winning 38 trophies during 26 years in charge and was last seen at Old Trafford last Sunday where he presented Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger with a commemorative trophy.

There have been reactions to the news of his health on social media.
