I’M LOSING MY LOVE

Question

I think I’m losing the love of my life and need your help. I’ve been dating her for over five years and we got engaged last year. My plan was to pay lobola by the end of the year, but I have two boys from my previous relationship and my ex has been meddling and threatening her.

Until now my partner has been supportive, even though our relationship wasn’t public because my family didn’t know I’d split from my ex.

But it seems she wasn’t happy because she suddenly told me she doesn’t want to continue with the relationship anymore. I tried to reason with her but she won’t listen. She’s blocked my number and I can’t reach her. She’s so angry with me and I don’t know what to do. I’m depressed without her.

Answer

It’s sad you seem to be losing the love of your life because of your past. She probably got tired of waiting in the shadows. Let’s face it, five years is a long time to be in a secret relationship.

She might have felt you’re taking forever to get your house in order and just couldn’t take it anymore. I suggest you sort yourself out first then you can trace her through her friends and family and ask her to give you another chance.

If she agrees make sure you do right by her or you’ll lose her forever.

STRUGGLING WITH ENGLISH

Question

I’m a 23-year-old girl from a small town in the Free State. I’m not fluent in English and afraid to speak it because I think I might embarrass myself. Now I’m living in Joburg and I’m finding it difficult to communicate with others. What can I do to improve my English and confidence?

Answer

It’s commendable you’re willing to work on your language fluency. There are many ways to do this but the best one is the one you’re afraid to do: speak English.

Don’t be scared and keep trying. There are many people who don’t know your language either and would also make mistakes if they try to speak it.

And know that speaking English well or not is not a measure of intelligence. To improve your English vocabulary, read English books.

You can even contact your local library for any language programmes they might have on offer. To boost your confidence, contact Let’s-Live Coaching on 012-683-8836 to set up a life coaching class.
