Ghana has imposed a travel ban on travelers who have visited countries that have recorded over 200 Coronavirus cases.
The move according to the government is to help prevent further spread of the virus.
On Sunday the country announced four more new cases bringing the total in that country to six.
All the cases are said to have been imported.
Three of the cases were confirmed in the capital Accra while one other was confirmed in the Ashanti Region.
One of the patients is a University student who had contact with over a dozen people. Officials said all the patients are in good condition and are being monitored.
Travel advisory
In a statement the government said “All travel to Ghana is strongly discouraged until further notice.”
It added that “any traveller, except for Ghanaian citizens, coming from or who has been to a country, that has recorded at least 200 cases of Covid-19 within the last 14 days, will not be admitted into the Ghanaian Jurisdiction.
Airlines are instructed not to allow such persons to embark. Border posts are instructed not to allow such persons into the jurisdiction.”
It added that “Any admissible traveller, who exhibits symptoms of Covid-19 will be quarantined and tested upon reaching Ghana.”

Ghana joins other African countries taking drastic measures to restrict movements following the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
