Ghana records second death from coronavirus

Ghana has recorded its second death from coronavirus, according to health officials.

Officials however are yet to give details about the second patient who died but announced that new cases have also been confirmed.

Ghana’s first death was a 54 year old Labanese patient who got infected in Kumasi.

So far Ghana’s tally of infections stands at 27 with two deaths and all the remaining 25 patients in stable condition.

A statement from the government said 20 of the 27 cases involve Ghanaians with the seven others being foreign nationals.

Ghana has already banned public gatherings, closed schools and restricted religious services.

The country’s borders have also been closed and there are fears there could be a lockdown soon if the trend of outbreak continues.

Many African countries are already considering a lockdown. Rwanda and South Africa among countries that have already imposed a lockdown.
