Somalia’s ex-prime minister dies of coronavirus

Somalia‘s former prime minister, Nour Hassan Hussein Nour Adde, has died of coronavirus in Britain, his family has said.

His son, Mohamed Nour Adde confirmed the death of his father in a statement on Wednesday.

He said the former prime minister died in King’s College, London, where he had been receiving treatment in recent weeks.

Nour Adde’s family said he will be laid to rest in Britain in a traditional Islamic burial.

He served as the 13th prime minister of the Horn of African Nation from November 2007 to February 2009.

Current Prime minister, Hassan Ali Khaire said on Twitter that “my deepest condolences to the people of Somalia and to the family of the former prime minister Nour Hassan Hussein Nour Adde who die in London”.

Some of Adde’s friends have also been paying tribute to him on social media.
