The top 5 African countries with high covid-19 recoveries

Egypt, Algeria, Senegal, Burkina Faso, South Africa are the top five African countries with high covid-19 recovery figures.

South Africa (410) has the highest number of recoveries from the deadly virus followed by Algeria (408) as at April 11, 2020.

Egypt has also recorded appreciable number of recoveries which stands at 384 with Senegal and Burkina Faso from West Africa also recording 152 and 146 recoveries respectively.

Many African countries appear to be using different forms of treatments so far with many in West African and elsewhere resorting to some anti-malarial and HIV/AIDS drugs.

The continent has so far recorded 13,145 infections with 700 deaths as at April 11, 2020.

All the sub-regions in Africa have now surpassed 1,000 in terms of infections signaling a surge in coronavirus cases.

North Africa still leads with 5,784 cases followed by West Africa with 2,856 cases. Southern Africa is third with 2,150 cases.

South Africa as a country has more cases than any other country with its current tally at 2,003.

There are more deaths from the virus also in North Africa (528) with Algeria responsible for majority of those deaths.
