For years users of Twitter have asked for an edit button so, tweets sent with errors can be corrected.
Such an edit button is available for example on social media platforms like Facebook but not on twitter.
In a recent video, the founder of Twitter,Jack Dorsey said there would be no edit button on the social media app.

On Thursday, Twitter got many users excited about allowing for an edit button, but doing so when everybody wear a face mask amid the covid-19 added some twist to it.
For some users it is just an attempt to get people to wear their masks to prevent the spread of the virus.
But for some it is simply a bad idea to have edit button for tweets.
