Tanzania’s electoral commission has announced that voters with missing identity cards can vote with their driving licences and passports.
The electoral body said this will ensure that voters get the chance to exercise their democratic rights without limitation in next week’s general election.
According to the commission the names of citizens voting with driving licenses and passports should tally with their details in the voters’ register.
In a statement on Twitter the electoral commission said it can guarantee the sanctity of the electoral process.
