40 killed in Gunmen invasion of a mining site in Nigeria’s Zamfara

The Police in the Nigerian town of Zamfara have confirmed the killing of scores of people by gunmen after storming a mining site in Gidan Ardo village of Bindin district.

Police officials told reporters on Tuesday that investigations have been launched into the killings.

A police spokesperson Shehu Muhammad, said the officials are yet to ascertain the exact number of those killed during the attack.

Officials said the security officials from the Anti-terrorism Squad have been deployed to the area to help the Army arrest the gunmen.
