Former Ghana coach Avram Grant has been named as one of the favourites to take over Leicester City following their sacking of Claudio Ranieri.

The Premier League champions parted ways with the Italian following their dismal recent form which has left them in danger of being relegated from the English top flight.

And Grant, who left his post with the Black Stars following a disappointing 2017 Africa Cup of Nations campaign, has been strongly linked with the Leicester job.

Bookmakers Paddypower have the Israeli, who has also managed the likes of Chelsea and Portsmouth in the Premier League, as one of the favourites (8-1) to be appointed.

Should Grant claim the job at King Power Stadium, he would be in charge of prominent African players such as Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimani, Ahmed Musa and Daniel Amartey.
