Popular singer Rihanna has been declared a persona non grata in Senegal as religious groupings there express displeasure over her intended visit to the West African nation.

Jeune Afrique (in French) reported that the Pop star who is due to appear at a high-level summit in Senegal on Friday has offended some religious groups.

The groups are accusing Rihanna of backing homosexuality and belonging to the so-called Illuminati group which is reported to be an organization for global elites.

The news portal quoted the religious groups as saying that “No to Freemasonry and Homosexuality”, who have also said that Rihanna uses masonic symbolism in her music.

Rihanna is visiting Senegal in her role as an ambassador for the Global Partnership for Education (GPE).
