SA President Ramaphosa stuck on train with commuters

South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday was stuck on a passenger train for hours together with other commuters.

The President who is in the northern province of Guateng campaigning was seen interacting with some of the commuters.

Many passengers were left frustrated with train officials initially unable to tell why the three hour delay after the train stopped in the middle of the journey.

But the officials have now said that another train driver was attacked leading to the delay.

The ruling African National Congress (ANC) has however said that the president has finally reached his destination.


Some social media users considered the delay however useful to enable the president to appreciate the sufferings of the ordinary South African.

South Africa is holding general elections on May 8. Mr Ramaphosa’s ruling party, the African National Congress is tipped to win that election.
