Malawi to introduce new 2,000 kwacha bank note

Malawi’s Reserve Bank has announced that it is introducing a 2,000 kwacha equivalent to $2.80 bank note.

This will take effect from December 19 this year. The bank said introducing the new note was to check inflation.

The highest denomination note for now is 1,000 kwacha.

The note will have a motif of Malawi University of Science and Technology on one side.
