45,000 have fled The Gambia – UN

The UN’s refugee agency has said that 45,000 Gambians have fled the country amid the political crisis.

Many of them fled to neighbouring Senegal.

The UNHCR spokesman Babar Baloch said that Senegal has aid ready for up to 100,000 refugees.
