Nigeria has been hit by a cholera outbreak with health officials in the state of Adamawa saying that 12 people have died so far.

Health officials on Wednesday said that the outbreak has also affected over 134 people in the northeast Nigerian state.

A medical official Ezra Sakawa, has said that “So far 12 people have died from the disease and there are many more cases”.

“We have little manpower to deal with an outbreak of such magnitude,” Sakawa said with reports of his hospital the general hospital for Mubi being the worst hit.

There are also reports of nurses embarking on strike in the community, a situation that has compounded the crisis.
