Nigeria’s top police officer, the Inspector-General, Mohammed Adamu, has issued a red alert over the killing of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani.
Qassem Soleimani was killed by the United States in a drone attack in Iraq, sparking further tension between the two nations.
Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police said he has placed the country’s police commands and formations nationwide on red alert.
He said there was intelligence report that some “domestic interests” are planning to embark on massive public disturbances and sabotage to protest the killing of Soleimani.
