In its report the WHO said “The COVID-19 outbreak continues to evolve in the WHO African Region, with the numbers of new cases and deaths rapidly increasing.
The pandemic in the region is mainly driven by South Africa, although four other countries (Nigeria, Algeria, Ghana and Cameroon) are also reporting larger number of cases. These five countries account for 72% of all cases and 74% of all deaths.”
